One on One In-Home Training: To help reduce barriers to being active, we provide services directly in your own home. Let our Certified Exercise Physiologists and Adapted Physical Activity specialists help you meet your functional, health, wellness or athletic goals. No equipment? No problem, we have a wide assortment of portable equipment we can bring to you to help you meet your goals.
Transition Support: Interested in going to a community fitness center but don’t know how to get started? Need an advocate to ensure equal access? Need accessibility support and education on how to adapt equipment for your needs? We can support you to make a positive and successful start in your own community.
Children and Youth Programming: We recognize that no two families are the same. Our collaborative, family-centered approach means that our services are tailored and modified to support your child in a way that suits your family best. To help reduce barriers to being active, we provide services directly in your home or community. Our team will bring the necessary equipment and resources to support your child’s health, wellness, gross motor or sports skills, movement, or physical activity goals.
Want to enroll in a community sport, recreation, or activity program, and just not sure what will be ‘the right fit’? We understand there is a lot to consider before registering your child, and we know this can be exhausting. Our team will work with your family to locate suitable programs, be an advocate to ensure equal and equitable access, and support with a positive and successful start. Whatever your needs may be, we are here to support you.
Aquatic Therapy: Water provides an equalizing environment to do basic movements (walking and balance) or exercises to help keep you strong with limited impact on your body. We provide one on one or group aquatic therapy options in the community.
Rural Support: Finding options to be active in a rural community can be difficult. Equality Fitness has partnered with New Path: Exercise Therapy and Health Consulting for our rural support program. This is a new service to Alberta that provides Exercise Therapy and Health Consulting to all rural communities.
Consultations & Educational Workshops: Are you an organization or group interested in learning more about accessibility, adapted physical activity and recreation therapy for older adults, persons experiencing disability and chronic conditions or diverse groups? Equality Fitness & Recreation is available to provide a multitude of consultation, presentation or workshops to support.
Yoga: We offer One on One Akhanda yoga directly in your own home. "Akhanda" meaning whole, focuses on balancing and incorporating mind, body, and soul into one. Yoga is an integral approach of teachings and techniques to offer a unique experience and a mindfulness toolkit for one's journey in everyday life. Yoga sessions are individualized to meet and challenge the client's needs and goals. Designed to incorporate varies postures, breathing techniques, relaxation/ meditation, and adjustments/adaptations and modifications to safely participate in one's practice. Yoga is not solely a physical activity to enhance physical health but evolves different aspects such as breath work and meditation to assist in mental health and overall well being.
Other Services: Wellness is about more than just fitness and recreation. When required we can provide other wellness options to best meet your needs, right to your door. Other services may include Massage Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, and Dietician support.
